Thank you to Shelia and Kakes for Kids. She donates personalized
birthday cakes to SafeHaven’s Kids. Children’s Coordinator Mindy
Sutherland (pictured with cake) said, this is really important to the
kids.
Mindy said:
“We had a little boy come into the shelter on his actual birthday.
Normally we have to give a four day notice on cakes, but when I
called Sheila and told her about the situation within 30 minutes she
called me back and found him a cake. When I took the cake to the
mom and told her we were going to have him a party, she started
crying and hugging me and saying Thank you…Thank you…she
said she had his cake, gifts and piñata at home and had to leave it
with no party. The little boy was thrilled. It truly was more special to
him because his cake had his name on it.”
